有朋至遠方來, 不亦樂乎

Tonight, I met up with my friend and 學長, H, who is on a business trip in town. We had a Taiwanesey dinner at 呂桑, an unassuming place that serves Yilan specialties on 永康街. There is actually another similar spot in the same area, which I took my dad for lunch last weekend. It was good. So was 呂桑.

We were both pretty hungry so we ordered 5 dishes: shredded smoked duck, stir-fried wild vegetable, intestine stewed in miso sauce, chilled boiled free range chicken, oysters in garlic soy sauce dressing. I has a bowl of lard rice (yup 豬油拌飯) and H had a bowl of noodles. Had a bottle of “Gold Medal” Taiwan Beer to wash it all down. Very satisfying meal for the guest and I.

After the Taiwanesey/Yilan dinner, we walked to a neighborhood coffee shop and bar and each had another beer. Ended the night at Wet bar. Quite a good night.
